Federico Macheda continues being dropped to the bench

Federico Macheda’s career appears to have reached a new point in his career and not in a good way as the Italian attacker joined Nottingham Forest on a loan deal which was agreed back on March of the ongoing year.

One of the main reasons of why Macheda decided to join Nottingham Forest on a loan deal and make his way out of Cardiff City was to try and get more consistent playing time with the main team but this it hasn’t happened as the Italian player has had to settle with a place on the sidelines as a substitute player for the majority of the time that he has spent with Nottingham Forest.

Even after leaving Cardiff City and joining another club, Federico Macheda is struggling trying to find a regular spot in the main of whatever club he is performing in.

This is a huge turn of event for the player that stunned the world of football when he made his Premier League for Manchester United debut back on 2009. It was a dream debut for Federico Macheda as he scored the winning goal which helped Manchester United overcome Aston Villa with a superb goal and this was hugely impressive taking into consideration the fact that Macheda was 17 years old. FEDERICO MACHEDA: RASHFORD HAS A BETTER CHANCE

Italian forward, Federico “Kiko” Macheda, who was widely touted as the future of English Premier League giant, Manchester united, has come out in support of young talent, Marcus Rashford. Federico did get first team action for the EPL giants whilst he was a teenager but he is currently playing for English championship side, Nottingham Forest. The parent club of the 24 year-old is Cardiff City FC but currently his loan spree has taken him to Cardiff City. The footballer’s contract runs till mid next year with his club but his loan ends next month.

Federico also had a sterling start at Old Trafford playing for The Red Devils. Like Rashford, he scored in his first two appearances for the team in 2009. He was even younger than Rashford as he was 17 years old. He went on to score three more goals in his subsequent matches totaling 34, with Sir Alex Ferguson at the helms. After his poor run, his loan spree began. He has played on loan for Italian club Sampdoria, English championship team Queens Park Rangers (QPR), VfB Stuggart in Germany, UK team Doncaster Rovers FC and Birmingham. All these were before his eventual free transfer to current club, Nottingham Forest before being sent on loan again to Cardiff City.

Her told reporters when asked about Rashford that he doesn’t expect same to happen to the young lad. Macheda said: “Marcus needs to continue working hard, don’t grow a big head, don’t read or listen to all the hype and be lucky with injuries.”

He advised current young sensation, that put two goals past Arsenal FC this season, to remain calm. Continue reading FEDERICO MACHEDA: RASHFORD HAS A BETTER CHANCE

After failing with Cardiff, where will Federico Macheda join?

There was a time when Federico Macheda was hailed as being one of the brightest players to emerge from the youth academy of Manchester United. The Italian attacker made so many top performances with the Under-18 side that the club decided to offer him a professional contract when he was only 17 years old.

After having signed his first professional contract with Manchester United, Macheda was getting limited playing time with the Premier League as he was mostly serving as a substitute player and this is why he opted to join a number of different clubs with hopes of gaining more experience outside of Old Trafford.

Sampdoria, Queens Park Rangers, Stuttgart, Doncaster Rover, Birminham City are all of the clubs that Macheda joined on loan deals before eventually going on to sign a permanent deal with Cardiff City.

Macheda’s time in Cardiff City might be reaching it’s end as the head coach of the English club, Russell Slade is believed to be interested in letting the Italian forward go in the winter transfer window after failing to make any impressive performance.

Along with Federico Macheda, Alex Revell is another player who has not made any kind of impact in Cardiff City and the English forward is also rumored to be on his way out of the club after failing to impress the head coach Russell Slade.

Federico Macheda had to undergo a surgery in order to resolve a back problem that he was suffering; this made him unable to play for a considerable long time but even when the Italian attacker has been available to play fully recovered, his time in the pitch seems to be non-existant and his future is being linked with a move away from Cardiff City and the question that lies is where will he join if he leaves the English League Championship club?

GREAT START

Federico Macheda kickstarted his loan spell in Birmingham City by scoring twice against Charlton and the player who made his way out of Manchester United until the end of the current campaign is optimistic that his new club is capable on finishing at the higher spots of the league.

“We have a good team with great young lads,” Macheda told BBC WM.

“With the quality we have, we look to finish as high as we can in the table.”

The 22 years old forward Macheda, still has not managed to find a spot in the main squad of Manchester United despite having switched managers and the club having offloaded players such as: Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez and Dimitar Berbatov.

The unfortunate factor for Macheda is the fact that his situation in Manchester United is not going to change anytime soon as Moyes already has his attacking department filled up with Wayne Rooney, Van Persie and Juan Mata as those are the players that are consistently chosen in his starting lineup.

This situation has forced United on releasing Macheda on a number of loan deals to many clubs including: QPR, Stuttgart, Sampdoria and Doncaster Rovers.

“I have been at Man United for many years but I used to get on the pitch once or twice every month. So it is massive for me to play games. I try to score every game. I know it won’t happen.

I have no targets. I just hope the team does well.”

“I am on my last three or four months of my contract with United. I am on loan to impress. I have had loan spells that didn’t work, really. I went abroad and it didn’t really work. I went to Doncaster Rovers this season and now it’s Birmingham, I feel very comfortable’’. Macheda said.

DONCASTER DREAMING

Federico Macheda joined Doncaster Rovers in September on a 1 month loan deal but a hamstring injury saw him making a return to Manchester Unite earlier than expected although despite the short time that he played for Rovers, he still managed to score 3 goals in 5 matches.

After completing the recovery from his hamstring injury, Macheda joined Doncaster Rovers on another loan deal but this time until the end of December. The 22 years old Italian player has already said however that it is very likely he leaves Manchester United and his future will probably be outside of the Premier League club.

Macheda said he will likely have to leave United on permanent basis to further his career and suggested a return to his native Italy as the most likely destination.

“I have not had the opportunity to talk about my place at United, but I have not once been selected this year and I think my future will be far from Manchester”, he said.

“I need to find continuity until January. Then in January, we will see.
“Let’s see how it goes this year, and then I might as well go back to Italy.”

Macheda made an explosive debut with Manchester United back in 2009 when he scored an outstanding goal at the 93rd minute when the club was still under the control of Sir. Alex Ferguson and they were struggling in their match against Aston Villa but Macheda scored the winning goal in the last few seconds.

Since signing for Manchester United in 2008, Macheda has made 19 appearances and all of them coming from the bench. His lack of playing time with the club is the main reason why he wants to make a permanent move away from the champions of the Premier League.
