DANIEL JAMES – A RISING STAR AT OLD TRAFFORD

Manchester United winger Daniel James has been impressive since making the move from Swansea netting four goals so far. The talented Welshman has impressed many with his direct running and Robben style curved finishes.

It is interesting to see how he has been deployed by Solskjaer on the left of the attack and has thrived in the role. Manchester United have a tradition of utilizing young players, both from the club and from other clubs.

There have been mixed successes with Cristiano Ronaldo a high profile foreign young signing made by the club which turned out good. Anderson was a player that failed to fulfill his potentials at the club despite the huge fee for his signature.

Looking at Homegrown players, Rashford is a good example of an academy player that has developed into a quality player. Federico Macheda is an example of a forward that never made the grade at the club despite his bright start.

James will be hoping to develop into a world-class talent for one of the biggest clubs in the World. Fellow countryman Gareth Bale should be an inspiration to the winger. Bale rose from obscurity to become the most expensive footballer when he made the move from Tottenham to Real Madrid.

James has a similar career curve and it will be up to the coaching staff at Old Trafford to find a consistent range of performance from the youngster. He has continuity with his country Wales where United legend Ryan Giggs is the manager.

Manchester United fans will be hoping for the winger to develop into the player that he has shown potentials to become. As a young player, there will be spells of drought and loss of form, however, the way he recovers from these challenges will determine how far he goes in his footballing career.
